Environment
UTCC offers students a safe, warm, convenient city campus with 24-hour access. UTCC is located in the center of Bangkok. Such superior location allows students to enjoy various options for accommodation, multiple delicious cuisines, diverse shopping and entertainment options.
Accommodation
UTCC does not provide an on-campus dormitory. MCU Thailand office will assist students to locate suitable accommodation prior to their arrival. On average, the monthly rental for a single room ranges from 5,000 – 8,000 Baht, while a bedroom with a living room ranges from 10,000 to 12,000 Baht per month.
Transportation
The public transportation around UTCC are well structured and convenient, including BTS (near Ari Station), MRT (Huai Khwang Station), bus, taxi, and motorbike taxi, etc.
Shopping Nearby
Central Rama 9, Fortune Tower, Union Mall, Central Plaza Ladprao, The Street Ratchada, Esplanade Shopping Mall, etc.
Living Expenses
Monthly food and living expenses average about 5,000 – 6,000 Baht. Different restaurants options and numerous markets, such as Huaikwang market and Big C supermarket, are nearby. Average cost per meal is about 50 baht.
(Students may decide to study for a semester or a year in MCU Taipei campus as exchange students.)
MCU’s Taipei campus is located next to the famous ShiLin night market with easy access to public transportation, such as buses and the Metro. The location is very convenient, close to everything.
Accommodation
MCU offers on- and off-campus dormitories. The rent for one semester (6 months) ranges from 9,600 to 15,000 TWD. There are also other accommodations available near the university. For a room without a private bath, monthly rental fees range from 6,000 to 8,000 TWD. For a room with a private bathroom, the monthly rental fees range from 10000 to 12000 TWD. MCU will assist students to locate appropriate accommodation.
Transportation
MRT JianTan station is located right across from the MCU Taipei campus, about a 3-minute walk.
Living Expenses
Monthly food and living expenses average 8,000 to 10,000 TWD. Diverse restaurants with different price ranges are available nearby. A typical meal ranges from 60 to 120 TWD.
ShiLin Night Market
The Shilin Night Market in Taipei is one of the largest, most popular night markets in Taiwan in regard to food, and also one of the most popular points of Taipei’s night life among visitors. Located in Taipei’s Shilin District, a mere 70 metres from MRT Jiantan Station, the maze of alleyways is filled with a variety of local, traditional, and international merchandise that attract locals and foreigners alike.
Carrefour Tianmu Store
As the leading retail group in the world, Carrefour is the largest hypermarket enterprise in France, other European countries and Taiwan. The closest one to the Taipei campus is the Carrefour Tianmu store (Address: No. 47 Déxíng West Road, Shìlín, Taipei).
