Lin, Zhou-Yi, a graduating class student of Electronic Engineering Department in MCU, felt confused about his future when he initially left Shanghai to study in Taiwan. As a second-year student, he started to focus intensely on academic learning; then he was awarded multiple scholarships and won prizes in several international robotics competitions during these years of study at MCU.
Just thinking he would further his studies with a master’s degree after graduating from MCU, he was admitted to the Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Beyond his expectation, he also received a full scholarship for doctoral degree study by ranking first place for outstanding academic grades.
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is one of the significant academic centers in Asia, ranked 13th in 2017 QS World University Rankings. Their School of Computer Science and Engineering is ranked top 20 in the world.
Lin, Zhou-Yi encourages all junior students to cherish every learning chance that can elevate oneself; students will achieve wonderful results once their eye is on the goal and they make effort to pursue it.
I would like to note here that MCU supported me fully in my language acquisition through free classes while I was a student and a discount at the language center after I graduated. Even looking beyond the social and work benefits, MCU provided me with useful general knowledge and experience in self-directed learning so that I feel academically equipped to complete my course here in the UK. I had some fantastic teachers and always felt encouraged to excel. Now I can't help but to look back with a mix of gratitude and fondness at my time as an IC student
